BSJZ Law Wins Arbitration Award for Microtunelling Contractor
BSJZ Law attorney Marcus Sanborn represented a local microtunneling contractor in an arbitration against a local municipality. The project involved the installation of 21″ sewer pipe. Microtunnelling was selected among other options because the municipality sought to preserve old-growth trees. No boulders or cobbles were encountered in the soil borings, yet the contractor encountered numerous boulders and cobbles during construction. The arbitration award compensated the contractor for all of its additional costs incurred as a result of the boulders and cobbles, as well as overhead, profit and interest.
