Court of Appeals Upholds Jury Verdict For BSJZ Law Client
The Michigan Court of Appeals has upheld a jury verdict and award of attorney’s fees in favor of our client, a general contractor. In that case, the jury found that a developer — who also happened to be an attorney — had defrauded our client by falsely representing that the development company had sufficient funds to pay for an expensive renovation project. After the verdict was issued, the judge awarded our client its attorney’s fees incurred in pursuing the litigation. The verdict and attorney’s fee award were upheld by the appellate court in all respects. David M. Zack was sole trial counsel for our client and handled all aspects of the appeal. For further details about the case, see Associated Construction Services, Corp. v. Commerce 8800, LLC, et al., No. 320717, 2015 Mich. App. LEXIS 1819 (Mich. Ct. App. Sept. 29, 2015).
